Today was my first time snorkeling. We went to Matheson Hammock for the mangroves and seagrass. Luckily, there were little (if not any at all) mosquitoes flying around. A mangrove is basically a place connecting land to sea. It is also a nursery for organisms.
We started off on foot and walked into the mangrove. A giant silk spider was seen. Then we had to step into dead and decaying organic material that made your feet sink and get stuck in. Later on, we snorkeled.
Snorkeling was surprisingly not that difficult. The difficult part of this trip was finding the organisms. We snorkeled in very shallow water and it was devastating in that there was little to be seen. The only thing that caught my eye was a pretty big blue crab as we were walking back to land.
